This week we begin the book of Daniel in our teaching series. Many fellowship groups are also studying through the book as well.
Our theme for 2016 is ‘Engaging our World’ and the book of Daniel is a great book to read and study while we think about this theme.
In Daniel we see a man caught between two worlds. The physical reality before him: exile in a nation superpower with all its glories and trappings; versus the unseen eternal home he is destined for. Which one will win the affection of his heart?
In a startling number of ways Daniel’s experience in exile echoes our own experience today. We live in a world with many glories and trappings vying for the affection of our heart – but we belong to a world to come, and our allegiance must lie with the King there.
This sermon series graphics seeks to emphasise the themes contained within Daniel. A topographical map of Brisbane is in the background. A lion (one of the well-known stories in Daniel) graphic is overlaid. And the title calls us to remember the other world we belong to as well.
So, what do you know about the book of Daniel? What are you looking forward to as we read this book? Post it in the comments below!
