Being on mission for Jesus. Sharing the gospel. Evangelism. Our first responses to hearing these things can often be guilt, fear and a sense that we are duty-bound.

In our passage this week in Luke’s Gospel, we see that it’s true that being on mission for Jesus poses many challenges. However, the great motivation of mission is salvation joy: joy in our own salvation, joy in the salvation of others, joy in the sovereign grace of God, and joy to know that the harvest is plentiful.
