Christmas is coming! With that deadline, despite all that is happening in our world today, we’re busy preparing ourselves: getting presents ready, making travel plans to (hopefully) be able to see family, and generally organising ourselves for that moment.

Surely the return of Jesus should elicit within us even more serious preparation.

In this passage this week Jesus gives an encouragements and clear warnings to his disciples: be ready for my coming and be prepared for the personal cost… or else. Will we take his warnings seriously? Will we treat his rewards too lightly?
