Many of us proclaim that Jesus is Lord and Saviour – but in our heart of hearts do we actually trust something else to give us security in life? Have we made an alliance in our hearts with our bank statements, homeownership, retirement nest egg, the grades we are getting in school – are these things actually giving us security? Does having these things help us sleep better at night?

We’re only halfway through the judgement passages in our Ezekiel sermon series, and this week God will remind Israel of another reason that his right judgement is falling upon them: they did not trust him solely for their security.
