In life we wait for many things, ranging from the trivial to tremendously important. There is great relief and joy when what we wait for arrives, but yet there always remains a sense that there’s more to wait for, more to what we need. Simeon and Anna, along with the nation of Israel, waited for a salvation that impacted not just them and their nation, but for the entire world. As they held baby Jesus in their arms, their wait was over; God’s salvation has come.
