On Tuesday I (Pastor Steven) got to meet with two lecturers from Queensland Theological College, Stuart Hoadley and Mark Baddley. It was a great time of catching up, getting to know each other, and chatting about SLE Church’s upcoming mission week. Various groups at church are meeting and have already met to discuss and brainstorm ideas for what the team might be able to do and help with during the week – and there are some exciting plans underway!

The date for the mission week is locked in from Sunday 28th September to Sunday 5th October.

I’m aware that this falls in the second week of primary/high school holidays, as well as the mid-semester university break. Let me encourage all of us to set aside the evenings and the weekend of 3-5 October (Friday evening to Sunday) in particular.

Next week I’m meeting with the team itself and will post up more information about who they are and what roles they might help with.

In the meantime, pray for the team itself to come together and work well. Pray for students who might be preparing talks and/or sermons. And pray that our church would warmly welcome the team who will be spending a large amount of their time not only serving us but also learning what life is like and ministry is like in an English-speaking Chinese church!
