What to expect each Sunday morning

Settling in

Welcome! Sign in, put your bags away and pick an activity to get stuck into.

Game

A fun activity to get the kids moving and introduce the Bible lesson.

Memory verse

Children are taught to memorise God’s Word in a fun and active way.

Songs

We sing fun and active songs that help children to remember and respond to God’s Word.

Bible lesson

Bible lessons are conducted in year groups so that children can explore and engage with God’s Word in a way that’s clear and meaningful for them. Children will read the Bible for themselves, discuss, ask questions and share reflections.

Chat time

An opportunity for the kids to apply God’s Word personally and explore its relevance for their lives.

Prayer

Children are encouraged to speak to God in response to what they have heard in his Word.

Big idea poster

The children make and bring home a poster every week with the big idea of the lesson.

Dropping off

On Sunday, please arrive between 8:50am - 9:00am to give your child sufficient time to settle in for the program. Once you've checked your child in and collected their name tag, your child is ready for Kids Church!

All children will start off together with Big Group Time for the first half hour but will split into smaller classes according to year groups for the rest of the time.

What to bring

Morning tea (please keep it nut free to protect other children)
Water bottle
Pencil case, including: glue, scissors, crayons/markers
Hat

Picking up your child

After class, teachers will be responsible for bringing children up to the grassy area at the front of the church so they can enjoy morning tea while waiting for you. All children are encouraged to bring a water bottle, hat and some morning tea.

Please check out and collect your child promptly at 10:30am. This will ensure that the teachers can debrief, pray and clean up before attending the 11am service.

Every child will bring home a chat time sheet and the big idea poster every week. These resources have been thoughtfully created to create opportunities for you and your child to chat about what they’ve learnt from God’s Word.

We encourage you to use check out times as opportunities to speak with our teachers to find out how your child has been going in Kids Church. We value our partnership with parents and are committed to praying for your child and your family. Please feel free to share your thanksgiving or prayer points with us.

Partnership with Parents

Here at Kids Church, we believe that teaching the gospel faithfully to children begins at home. We see it both a joy and a privilege to be gospel partners alongside our parents as we teach God's word . As part of this gospel partnership, we invite parents to stay and be involved in our weekly lessons on a rotational basis. This allows parents to get a glimpse of what kids church life is every Sunday as well as for them to be an integral part of our service team.

Your child's safety is our priority.

All our Kids Church teachers have Blue Cards. And our Kids Church Leaders have undergone Safe Ministry with Children training.
