The Gospel to the Ends of the Earth: Acts 13-20
10 EPISODES
Before his ascension, Jesus told his disciples that they would be his witnesses "in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." As we enter the second phase of Acts, we see the first overseas missionaries deliberately sent by the church to proclaim the gospel to unreached peoples and areas. This is the story of God's gracious plan to send his people, by his Spirit, to bring the gospel of salvation beyond the lands of the Jews to people of all nations, to the ends of the earth.

Set Apart for the Work of the Gospel
When Paul and Barnabas are set apart and sent by the Spirit, not even the Devil can oppose their work.

A Light to the Nations
Promise. Salvation. Rejection. Grace. This is the pattern of God's plan for salvation to the ends of the earth. Let's rejoice in his great salvation, and let's proclaim this salvation to the nations.

Gospel Ministry Pathways and Patterns
The book of Acts is about the journey of the gospel going out to the ends of the earth. In Acts 13-14, we see Paul and Barnabas persist in making disciples of Jesus Christ among the Gentiles. Through Gods enabling and the ministry of the apostles, many Gentiles come to faith and are established as disciples of Jesus Christ. The normal pattern of ministry and mission is seen: divided response to the gospel and his gospel messengers, the strong desire in all people for worship, and the need for deep discipleship that will enable perseverance in the faith.

We reach one of the climaxes in the book of Acts where the Apostles and elders of the early church hold the very first council to discuss a monumental topic: how are Gentiles saved?

Preaching the Gospel to All Nations
Paul and his companions kick off the second mission journey with a series of setbacks in their travel plans. The lessons we learn will challenge and equip us to preach the gospel to all nations; even those who are different and distant from us.

Salvation for Friends and Enemies
Responses to the gospel differ so much because either God is active or unbelief is at work.

Engaging Athens
Since God is the creator of everything idolatry makes no sense, so we must repent before Jesus returns.

The Greater Baptism
God is always present with his people, those who believe in the Lord Jesus, because he dwells with by his Spirit.
EPISODE 9
Repentance and Rioting
The gospel comes to the mega-city of Ephesus and makes a huge splash in culture. In Acts 19 we see the tale of 2 crowds. One that responds in mass repentance and another that responds with mass rioting. Which will you be a part of?

Finish the Race
Paul's ministry is deeply personal, centred on the gospel and word, courageous and exemplary - encouraging us to model our own ministries after him.
