With Easter coming up Ben and I thought it would be good to have a slightly more evangelistic series over Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We’ve titled the short series ‘That you may have certainty…’ – the words from the gospel writer Luke to his friend Theophilus. Theophilus appears to have heard the gospel, but was uncertain about some aspects. Luke wrote his Gospel, and Acts, to reassure him of what he had heard.

So this coming Friday and Sunday we’ll have slightly apologetic messages – ie, presenting a reasonable defence and arguments for the death and resurrection – while also walking through what it means for us today that Jesus died and was raised to life.

Spend some time praying for friends and family you’d like to see come to know Jesus – and maybe invite them along this Easter to church!

After Easter we begin a journey from Genesis 1 all the way through to Revelation 22 as we consider God’s mission from start to finish. We’ll be looking at how scripture fits together as a united whole, a single story, pointing towards and fulfilled in Jesus Christ, with missions as the vehicle by which the nations come into a life-transforming encounter with Jesus.

If that sounds like a mouthful, we’ll be spending 6 weeks unpacking it!

1. The Need for Mission (Genesis 1-11)
2. The Blueprint for Mission (Genesis 12)
3. Mission Success…and Failure (Exodus to 2 Kings)
4. New Mission Hope
5. Mission and Christ
6. Mission and Christians
