Booksale – postponed (again!)

Booksale - 2016

Hi all,

The booksale that was meant to happen last week, and then was postponed to this coming Sunday, has been postponed again! Now, when something is postponed it best happen for very good reasons – and there is one very good reason: Compassion.

That’s right, this coming Sunday we’ll be hearing from Peter Rees from Compassion Australia. He’ll be sharing on this wonderful ministry that SLE Church has supported for a number of years – a number of members in our church also sponsor children through Compassion. After the service he’ll be setting up and manning a stall with more information regarding Compassion and its ministry. Compassion does such wonderful work not only relieving physical poverty but also relieving spiritual poverty – and that is worth investing our time in to listen and find out more. So I wanted to make sure that our attention was not split between hearing about Compassion and wanting to check out the bookstall.

So the bible sale and book sale will be delayed until Easter Sunday.

Which, actually, is rather fitting! Think about it – we’ll be celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We’ll be celebrating his victory over death, and the eternal joy he has won for us. This is a joy that is worth exploring in much greater detail. Detail that is often available to us in wonderful books written by faithful men and women.

Some of those books will be on sale 🙂

For those who haven’t seen them yet, here are the promotional videos. The first on some of the various bibles that will be on sale, and the second video with some of the books that will be on sale.

And maybe another video will come out with our favourite little blooper creator.
